Principle

The government has spent over ten thousand million baht each year for research and development that even though has created benefits in the acquiring of new knowledge, researchers and patents, has not been economically beneficial. Research and development have not been able to increase the level of manufacturing and network connections in order to propel the country into a new economy and knowledge-based society. Innovation projects from research have not been completed due to lack of connections between the necessary components and a reasonable assessment center.

NIA therefore pays special attention in initiating, attracting and connecting together the different sectors such as the public and private research institutes, the manufacturing division, the market, and financial institutes in order to commercially develop research projects or explore for ones that are desired in businesses. In expanding on researches according to the market’s need, especially in supporting new businesses based on research and development, NIA aims to introduce innovation in a business level and strategic innovation in an industrial level.
