1. Pilot
project to improve the production of exotic female cattle by
using in vitro fertilization (IVF)
and embryos freezing technique |
|
Innovation
|
The innovation pilot project
leading to improve the production of exotic female cattle by
using in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryos freezing technique.
The IVF technique can be improved its efficiency by using sorted
X-sperm to produce female embryos. The sorted X-sperm from dairy
bulls will be fertilized in vitro with eggs collected from ovaries
of dairy cattle. At 7-8 days post fertilization, the embryos
will be cryopreserved by vitrification technique. The frozen
embryos will be warmed and transferred to uterine horn recipients.
This success rate can be confirmed by examine sex and development
of calves born in the following time. The pregnancy rate after
transfer fresh and vitrified embryos will be examined to confirm
that the vitrification technique is efficient and reliable for
production of exotic female dairy cattle in Thailand. |
