Thailand’s National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) (NIA), Ministry of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, are joining hands in promoting and pushing forward the agricultural innovation in order to improve and transform the ‘traditional agriculture’ to ‘agro-industry’, and eventually become the ‘agri-services or agribusiness’ where innovation is the key and primarily used in driving Thai agricultural sector. The new business models in agricultural innovation cover:

2) Digital Agriculture
3) Agricultural Robotics and Automation
4) Logistic and Postharvest
6) Agricultural Service
7) New Farming Model
SITE CONNECT 2017 or International Conference and Exhibition on Science-based Innovation and Technopreneurship Connect 2017, therefore, is organized by NIA and Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University under the theme “Agtech: From Science to Innovation” with the objectives to drive the dynamics of agri-business growth with science and innovation, present directions and trends of agribusiness and food business, and strengthen network for innovative business development between academic, public and private sectors. SITE Connect 2017 also aims to present Thailand’s potential of innovative agribusiness development and to stimulate and create awareness of stakeholders in this ecosystem in order to be able to respond to global consumer’s needs.
The conference comprises 2 sectors: AgTech Innovation and FoodTech Innovation. AgTech Innovation includes platform agriculture, biorefinery / bioenergy, farm of the future, and financial innovation for agriculture. FoodTech Innovation covers food trends, food for the future and food service and intelligence.
Theme A1: PLATFORM AGRICULTURE
Platform Agriculture defines new era of agricultural transformation towards data-driven agriculture, place, and space for Agricultural activities in a world with urbanized farming.
Theme A2: BIOREFINERY/BIOENERGY
Biorefinery/Bioenergy bridges agriculture with energy sector. This promising scientific innovation will shift the way of our consuming behavior and leverage sustainable society.
Theme A3: FARM OF FUTURE
Farm of the Future working in farm has been very a labor-intensive footprint of human civilization. Grand scale of economic migration in many developing economies lead many countries into a despaired situation. New way of farming with an intelligent technological and management innovations would provide a pace of agricultural entrepreneurship and career of the future in this traditional sector.
Theme A4: FINANCIAL INNOVATION FOR AGRICULTURE
Financial Innovation for Agriculture” is very complex and rarely be as priority for agricultural innovation, while financial schemes to subsidize and support farmers are always a socio-economic issues. Innovation in agricultural finance and investment attracts startup and new tech-based enterprises to work closely with investment sector and capital market.
Theme F1: FUTURE FOOD HACK
Future food hack encompasses the different aspects of future food and potential disruptive innovations. This includes Thailand food megatrends, trends in functional food and overview of food research, technology and innovation. It aims to create a dialog on the question: what would be a new stage of food innovation in the future? In this session will provides an explanation about current food innovation and an introduction to other pioneers in the business of future food.
Theme F2: FOOD FOR THE FUTURE (I)
Food for the future (I) elaborate on selected case studies of recent food product innovation, including the nutritional food from high efficiency natural extract and the future of human protein source from insect. Further, this session will gives an information about the role of Thai FDA in food of the future.
Theme F3: FOOD FOR THE FUTURE (II)
In addition to food product innovation, food for the future (II) will be present about the food process innovation, including meat / sausage production and new technology to optimization the design of agricultural and food processing machinery. There are also opportunity for food differentiation and value creation
